I wait for you. Free.
No locks, no chains, no promises, no time.
Ready to roll. Anxious to go.
But I wait. For you.

Luigi BoccheriniLucca, Italy
I didn't know who Luigi was until I looked it up...
And here's why I officially love him now (from Wikipedia):

In 1761 Boccherini went to Madrid, where he was employed by Infante Luis Antonio of Spain, younger brother of King Charles III. There he flourished under royal patronage, until one day when the King expressed his disapproval at a passage in a new trio, and ordered Boccherini to change it. The composer, no doubt irritated with this intrusion into his art, doubled the passage instead, leading to his immediate dismissal.

Aaaahahahahaa!! A rebel of a man after my own heart in 1761. It goes on to say he was gainfully employed after that and went on to write brilliant works after that.
In case you were worried about his well being.

Luigi kicked butt.
So does Lucca.

The Palace of Light Arts
Wandering around San Francisco one day, I got a hankering to check out the Palace of Fine Arts. It's so iconic, been shot about a billion times, half of that for wedding shots... and is truly one of the coolest landmarks in the city.

I landed here. I liked the perspective, loved how it felt ancient and elsewhere - and of course my heart leapt at the sunburst. That was the real shift for me. The sunburst. At that moment, it was no longer simply a palace of fine arts... but of light arts. Naturally I went on to write a little story in my mind about that. sigh.

Brought to you by Karen's imagination.

San Domenico, or St. Dominic's BasilicaSiena, Italy
Sunset... Siena... camera in hand. It doesn't even matter that you don't have the BEST seat in the sunset house... all that matters is that you're there.

For Abe, It Was a Bust Salt Lake City, Utah

He was stiff.
Couldn't turn his head.
He wanted to see the swoops 'n swirls behind him...
but for Abe, all efforts were a bust.

Church of the MadelineSalt Lake City, UT
This was just one of the many architectural wonders that surprised and delighted me throughout Salt Lake City. What a beautiful church! I feel like I "ooh'd", "aah'd" and captured every square inch, although I probably exaggerate tremendously. Still, I loved this angle... which is the first thing you see when you walk in. Those are real pipe organ, um, pipes (?) you see sticking out at the top.
Oh, to have heard it played!

Nothing. Kinda makes you wish you could fold this up and take it with you for those special "high impact" moments, doesn't it?
