Tree of Thrive This is one of several shots I was asked to do for a book cover. It's a book about Thriving. I think this one has become personal icon for Thrive. Every time I look at it, I'm reminded to follow my muse... the light... that 'spark of divine inspiration'- that guides my life to its inspired happiest, funnest, most fulfilled ... most THRIVING version of itself. May you Chica-Chica-Boom-Chic and Prosper Two things made me press the shutter. One was that I loved the patterns, textures and the jaunty rake of paprika red cutting a confident swath through a sea of green (in equal parts of the whole, thus still technically counting as one reason)... the other that I instantly had a mental movie of Carmen Miranda bobbing, sashaying and singing her little heart out through the garden in vintage CarmenGlam. I nearly joined her.. and indeed often do in public places. Something to keep in mind should we ever hang or photowalk together. (New to Carmen Miranda lore? Learn what the cool kids all know here: http://goo.gl/v5QgW) I was then torn about whether to name the photo of them "Carmen Miranda on a Stick" or "Carmen Miranda is in my Garden". But the latter felt somehow more homagenous (yes I make up words of whimsy as I wish). Thus I present... this homage to dear Our Carmen of the Berry Hat. Her New Coiffe Huntington Gardens, CA Her friends thought her new doo was a tad overdone for everyday, although it definitely DID make a statement. She assumed their stares were that of envy and admiration, so she struck the pose and imagined it immortalized in People magazine. Snip-Snap!

Bee Good When you're buzzing about with great industriousness, it's always a good idea to bee good. Chuckle.
Soloist Her regal bearing, the slight tilt of her head and overall superlative posture created the initial double take. A modern cut on the Elizabethan collars of her form-fitted gowns capped it off. Then there was that slight glow that seemed to accompany her wherever she went...
