Tree and WindowSanta Cruz, CA

I have no particular attachment to this wall or tree. I don't know them personally. They were just so... themselves. So vibrant, bold, clear about who they were. Unapologetic. Daring you not to notice them. Not caring if you did. I admired that.

Nestled in FluffinessTruckee, CA

Nestled in her fluffiness, he relived the halcyon days.

PoofTruckee, Ca

Poof tried not to attract too much attention and blend in,
but as her mother always told her:
"You hide who you are from no one."

HeliotropeTruckee, CA

I love making up words, I LOVE flowers and I love the color Heliotrope.
(I even like the WORD for the color Heliotrope and deeply appreciate an opportunity to use it in a sentence that makes sense.)
Imagine my delight at finding this particular flower. (No really.. imagine it!)
So many pleasures rolled into a single heavenly heliotripial horticultural haven.

Not to mention the whole OTHER, sorta fantasy sci-fi story you could come up with for those alien-looking buds crawling out from underneath it. Heh.

Maui IceplantMaui, HI

Iceplants are interesting. They inspire fashion designers, hold their shape regardless of age or the weather, allow you to contemplate infinity and ponder the stillpoint, prick your finger if you manhandle them.

I aspire to be more like an iceplant.

Playful PalmsMaui, HI

Nature sure loves a good hula, that's all I can say.
And she's got good rhythm.

Aspens in the LightAspens, CA

No HDR, just light 'n leaves. Single shot.
I loves me some aspen colors in the fall. The way the light shines through, making the leaves glow. It calms me somehow.
