That moment in between breaths....
Gallery: The Monochromes
It's not called this on any map... but what else do you call a little cover where not one, but TWO photographers gather. Hmmmm?
... because we all should be.
So Many Years Ago...
Blue Boat, White Sand
She loved how selective her memory was.
It was always a surprise. Like an advent calendar of life.
River of a Dream
For a moment, it was like she stood on the edge of a dream.
A really strange, "primordial turtle in the granite" kind of dream.
Then she decided it was just another wacky reality selection
In her decidedly wacky, but mighty fun life.
Yuba River Dreams
This was from last July 4th... up in the Sierras, along I-80. Yuba River.
The granite there is old, wise and ancient.
I love hanging out there, 'cause sometimes I could swear I hear the faint tinkling of bells and whispers on the wind.
Once When We Were Young
I remember a time
when we were young...
when the way seemed smooth,
but the bumps were hard.
And over time,
The bumps WERE hard.
But they gave us shape
and form and purpose...
in the boundless glory
of a light and a life
whose shades, in the end
made the way seem smooth
and right and lovely and perfect.
Oh Captain, My Captain
She was a mountain person.
Always had been.
The strength, the power, the quiet sense of undeniable mastery
So perfectly resonated within her.
Sisters In The Sun
Like true sun worshippers, they bathed in it.
No matter the weather.

The Gazebo - black & white
Central Park, New York City
Memories are like old paintings,
and somewhat fanciful.
New York, NY
I dare you.
Guarding The Ages
Mont St-Michel, France
Sometimes you have to look really closely,
soften your eyes
and look carefully.
Only then will you see the signs.
Donner Lake, CA
Paying homage to branches that came before us.
SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS, CA
Wings of Light

The Bird & The Coliseum
The Coliseum, Rome
There's something about a soaring bird against the clouds, beside an antiquity, small yet free. It weaves time, space and that which matters into a vision for life that is hard to forget.
The Sacre CoerGoyles
Folks ooo'd and aahhh'd over the beauty of the place.
Its grandeur. Its splendor.
Their jaw-dropping photographs offered radiant testimony.
It was her first visit.
She had her Ooo's and Aaahh's all cued up, eager and enthusiastic.
But on that particular grey day,
she couldn't stop staring at the gargoyles.
5 Chairs & a Ship
That's what it sounded like, when the rain started to fall.
"TekkaTekkaTekka"... against the trees and the water. Like an unfathomable language of largely misunderstood elements.
Waiting for you
to take a ride
down the river,
round the bend,
to worlds beyond
and back to me.
