Courage Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand

In that moment, she realized that courage was knowing the odds, but sailing on anyway. Radiantly. With panache.
The Schooner of "Aha"
aka - The Ketch of the Day.

She used to worry that she'd miss the answers she was seeking.
Till she asked that they be shown in a way even she could not miss...
and began to see them in more obvious ways.
She relaxed a little after that.

Her regal bearing, the slight tilt of her head and overall superlative posture created the initial double take. A modern cut on the Elizabethan collars of her form-fitted gowns capped it off.
Then there was that slight glow that seemed to accompany her wherever she went...

Sweet Lady Teasal knew her way around a first impression, no two ways about it.

I Bled For This PictureAuburn, CA

I love oak trees. I usually like shooting them from underneath or 'inside' them,so this was something different.

We had to hike across a large field filled with thigh-high start thistle in 100 degree heat. I can honestly say that I bled for this shot! But I giggled as I did, because I kept remembering a good friend's advice to "Embrace the Horror." The simple theory goes... when the going gets tough - enjoy it! Because that's where your story is that you'll tell later. Not in the easy going... "Oh it was point and shoot, no big." yawn. But in the "I bled for this shot" story you tell later.

So the next time things start going south for ya, no more whining! Pay attention. Take notes. And imagine how FANTASTIC that story is going be over a long, cool one at the end of the day. Embrace the horror, baby!
