The Bridge Over Seine-ityParis, France

There are times, she mused, that the spoken version of one word perfectly describes the experience of another word, spelled differently.

She pondered how to say that to someone.
Then decided to just enjoy the sunset.

The Emerald Bridge
She had been gone a timefold. The journey home took longer this time than she ever remembered. It was harder than she expected. More heartbreaking, humbling, painful, healing, exhilarating, exhausting, rewarding, life-threatening, life-affirming and more utterly incredible than she ever dreamed possible.

And now... the Emerald Bridge. The last crossing. She could glimpse the peaceful, healing waters beckoning beyond the edge of the forest. Home.
In many ways, her deepest and truest work was about to begin. Home.
She took a moment to let the impact of her arrival settle. The eternity it took to get here slide from her shoulders like a battle-worn pack of lead. The relief of returning soothe every bit of her being.
Took a deep breath.
And stepped onto the bridge.
Home.

Left and Right Brain, Connected Through Better DiningSan Francisco, CA

I was waiting for a friend at the Farmer's Market in San Francisco a few weeks ago and I was early. With camera. Itching to shoot. So what better place to go than inside the Ferry Building for a few iconic shots inspired by +Thomas Hawk? He's posted some great shots from here. But what's so fun about G+, sharing and hitting the same spot that someone else shot is that yours will always beinspired by... never the same.

This always fascinates me. What makes us unique isn't just WHAT we shoot... it's what we SEE when we shoot. To me, that's what gives each of us our unique signature, our own voice. What you think or feel when you shoot determines the story you tell, reveals your particular and unique point of view, your very own window to YOUR world. And you get to take it further with however you choose to process your photo. By the time you're done... you have your very own slice 'o the world to share... that will always be just a little bit different than anyone else's, even if they were standing right there next to you, taking the 'same' shot.

I love that about us.

InSeine Sunset
My first time in France, first gaze upon the Seine river - and first full view of this gorgeous city so full of art, history and promise. It even had proper lighting, which I thought was very considerate. Just heavenly! So I made it look the way it felt.

I couldn't believe this sunset. People said it was unusual, but it was my first time in Paris, so how would I know? The thought did cross my mind; "Gee, it's just like the Glenshire Pond!". Then realized I'd probably committed some kind of mental crime de comparison.

The bridge is the Pont des Arts. It was a tit bit nippily in December when we were there. Snapping this shot in all my layers and full length down coat I could hardly imagine it - but during the summer it becomes a "studio en plein air" - a spot for painters, photographers, and other artists, and a picnic grounds for locals.

Hey - let's go there then! Wanna?
