The Pantheon, Rome I can only imagine what The Pantheon was like back in the day. I visited it late at night, when ghosts of Romans past drifted about the columns. Then I stood outside and looked up. From what I understand, it was originally covered in white marble stucco, but now only the brick and concrete from beneath it shows. It's like a stoic war hero, stalwart with its scars of time. Photographing the side like this gave me the same feeling as catching the side of a dear one's face when they don't know you're looking. It's personal, revealing, not what you usually focus upon, unexpected.

The Forum, Rome Sure, there are a gazillion images of The Forum in Rome. And each one is different! Light, skies, shadows, people all conspire to offer some slice of uniqueness, no matter how subtle. This was my first time seeing The Forum. Late afternoon. Gorgeous, stormy skies. I couldn't have asked for a better unique moment for my standard moment. I was still taking in the ancient-ness and how it just sits in the middle of today's city, surrounded by a population who are probably so used to all this (even over it to some degree), they don't even glance over anymore. Mind boggleage ensued...
