Truckee, California This is one of my favorite old barns in the area where I live. I've always wanted to photograph its slow slide into ruin surrounded by a ghostly light and mist. I finally got my chance one evening after it had been raining. The rain stopped earlier, then the temperature settled into the perfect fog-generating zone. It was nearly dark when I stopped to create this image; totally dark by the time I finished. I shot it at 1600 ISO, which I can get away with on my Fujifilm cameras... f/7.1 and a 30 second exposure. That combination created just the amount of light, mist and eeriness that I'd wanted to capture in this spot for years. It was a really fun and special night!
